KISSIMMEE, FL – Pinnacle and Birdsong Housing Partners are inviting Kissimmee residents to a job fair for one of their latest developments, Pinnacle at the Wesleyan. The job fair will be held in partnership with Birdsong’s affiliate Parramore Development & Construction from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22.

The event will be located at Osceola County Welcome Center & History Museum, 4155 Vine St., Kissimmee. Everyone is welcome to attend, whether they are experienced in construction trades or looking to break into the industry. Those interested in positions just need to bring a government-issued I.D. and fill out applications at the event.

Attendees will be applying to work on Pinnacle at the Wesleyan, a new 96-unit affordable rental community co-developed by Birdsong and Pinnacle. The development is located just south of the intersection of Warbird Blvd. and Flying Fortress Ave. in Kissimmee. Financing for Pinnacle at the Wesleyan is provided by Florida Housing Finance Corp., Bank of America, Neighborhood Lending Partners, Osceola County and the City of Kissimmee. Parramore Development & Construction, a full-service general contractor affiliated with Birdsong, is the general contractor for the development.

“At Pinnacle, we take pride not only in delivering affordable housing to the City of Kissimmee but also in our ability to extend economic benefits into the community by offering employment opportunities to local residents,” said Pinnacle Partner Timothy P. Wheat.

This is an opportunity for members of the local community interested in expanding their skill set to grow professionally or looking to launch a new career in a field with unlimited growth potential. Food specials will be back including Smash Burgers along with Taco Not Taco Nachos. Whether you are a die-hard Kansas City fan and Taylor Swift fan or Team San Francisco, there is plenty of great food and beer to enjoy at Leaven. The Tampa Bay Brewer’s Alliance will also be on-site for the event.

“We may not be able to celebrate the Bucs at the Big Game this year, but we’ll use it as an excuse to celebrate our craft beer and community. Turns out, both of those things pair well with KJ’s famous smash burgers. DAYTONA, FL – Daytona International Speedway has announced that Armando Christian Pérez, also known as Pitbull, will kick-off the Great American Race on Sunday, Feb. 18 by performing the pre-race show on the ballfield.

“There’s no better way to get the energy flowing than with Pitbull performing our pre-race concert for the Daytona 500,” said Daytona International Speedway President Frank Kelleher.

“Pitbull has continued to release major hits for over a decade and has shown tremendous longevity as an artist over the years. He’ll bring all the South Florida vibes and culture up here to put on quite the show for the 66th running of The Great American Race.”

Pitbull announced the next iteration of the “TRACKHOUSE” album series, set for release in February. The lyrics and cover of the EP titled TRACKHOUSE: Daytona 500 Edition reflect key elements of NASCAR’s biggest race. Pitbull joined Trackhouse Racing as a co-owner in 2021, connecting the world of music and racing to unite and inspire fans globally.

“It’s an honor to once again be part of the Great American Race, this time performing at the Daytona 500,” said Trackhouse team co-owner Armando Christian Perez (Pitbull).

Pitbull will continue touring with fellow artists Enrique Iglesias and Ricky Martin on The Trilogy Tour during the first part of 2024.

The fun starts on Wednesday, Feb. 14, with DAYTONA 500 Qualifying Presented by Busch Light determining the front row for the DAYTONA 500. Then on Thursday, Feb. 15 the Bluegreen Vacations Duel will occur, where drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series battle for a chance to race on Sunday.  

Friday, Feb. 16 sees the return of the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series in the Fresh From Florida 250. Then a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 17, with the ARCA Menards Series Race, followed by the NASCAR Xfinity Series United Rentals 300.

Sunday, Feb. 18 directly following Pitbull’s performance, drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series will make their 2024 season debut in the 66th running of the DAYTONA 500 at 2:30 p.m. EST. 

The concert will take place on pit road, visible from the grandstands, but fans with a Hard Rock Bet Fanzone Pass can watch Pitbull’s set up-close. Fans can still purchase the Infield Admission and Hard Rock Bet Fanzone Access Package, even without grandstand admission, which also grants access to driver and VIP appearances, a glimpse into the NASCAR Cup Series garages, up-close access to driver introductions and more.

Fans who have already purchased a grandstand admission to The Great American Race can upgrade to include Hard Rock Bet Fanzone access to their experience. Fans are encouraged to reserve their place in history during Speedweeks Presented by AdventHealth by logging onto DAYTONA500.com or by calling 1-800-PITSHOP. TAMPA, FL – wagamama, an Asian concept at Water Street Tampa, is celebrating their one year anniversary on Thursday, Feb. 22. Tickets are now available to the celebration. The restaurant says they are embracing the spirit of Setsubun, the traditional Japanese festival typically observed in February. It symbolizes the cleansing away of the previous year and the warding off of evil spirits, in hopes of a prosperous year.

The evening will feature the unveiling of their latest art installation: an array of lights designed to brighten the night. Guests will enjoy traditional Japanese entertainment and a curated selection of Asian-inspired dishes and beverages. The restaurant will be closed to the public between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. for ticket holders only, and will reopen at 9 p.m. until close.

TAMPA, FL – Farm Dinner in Fire is coming to Meacham Urban Farm in downtown Tampa on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 1108 East Scott St. Tampa, Florida, 33602. New York City native chefs Jazmin Johnson and Lana Lagomarsini have come to Meacham Urban Farm to explore seasonal and local produce and craft a special dinner. Vibrant colors and plates will bring together southern charm and Caribbean vibes, all tied together by the power of fire.

Farm Dinners are completely outside, so it is recommended to check the weather before attending. Proper footwear for uneven surfaces is recommended if joining for the guided farm tour. Heaters and blankets will be available to use if necessary.

The dinner is for guests who eat plant and animal products. Vegetarian dietary restrictions can be accommodated. Guests can secify any food related allergies when purchasing your ticket and they will do their best to accommodate all allergies.

Farm Dinners are BYOB. Chilled filtered water will be served along with dinner. Meacham will send out wine pairing suggestions the week before the event. Parking is in the lot of Meacham Urban Farm or guest can use the free on-street parking out front and on the perimeter side streets.

TAMPA, FL – Cowboy Bebop Live is coming to Tampa Theatre at 711 N Franklin St. on Thursday, Feb. 1 at 8 p.m. and tickets are now available for the concert. The concert is presented by The Bebop Bounty Big Band, a 14-piece jazz ensemble with top musicians from the Jazz Orchestra at Dr. Phillips Center, Orlando Jazz Orchestra, and Disney’s Main Street Philharmonic.

Cowboy Bebop is a Japanese neo-noir space Western anime television series which aired on TV Tokyo and Wowow from 1998 to 1999. The anime was created and animated by Sunrise, led by a production team of director Shinichirō Watanabe, screenwriter Keiko Nobumoto, character designer Toshihiro Kawamoto, mechanical designer Kimitoshi Yamane, and composer Yoko Kanno, who are collectively billed as Hajime Yatate. The jazz hits created by Kanno are considered to be legendary and span numerous albums.

Cowboy Bebop made its U.S. debut on Adult Swim, the adult version of Cartoon Network and also recently had a Netflix series live-action created about the anime. The 26-episode anime is short, but masterful. Every episode takes you on a different journey in the lives of three bounty hunters, a hacker and a Corgi looking for bounties and outlaws.
