There are high rain chances again today as flooding concerns continue for the Bay area.

  • Flood Watch remains in effect until 8 p.m. for Citrus, Hernando, and Pasco counties
  • Numerous to widespread showers anticipated Tuesday

Some heavy showers and thunderstorms are moving from the Gulf of Mexico across our area beginning this morning. The rain chance will continue this afternoon with some heavy downpours. Today’s rain chance is 80 percent.

A Flood Watch continues for Citrus, Hernando, and Pasco counties until 8 p.m. Parts of the Bay area, especially along the coast, have received more than 6 inches of rain during the past couple of days. Some residents in Port Richey are especially on guard with flood waters building in neighborhoods Monday. No homes were flooded.     

With numerous to widespread showers and isolated thunderstorms again today, there could be an additional 2 to 4 inches of rain today.

South to southwest winds are 10-15 mph. High temperatures will be below average again with parts of Tampa Bay in the mid 80s today.

Low pressure across the Florida panhandle and northern Gulf coast today will gradually move west while high pressure over the Atlantic Ocean builds west over the area.

Rain chances will drop to 60 percent on Wednesday and it will be warmer with highs in the upper 80s to 90 degrees tomorrow afternoon.
