A large area of showers and storms will move through the area this evening. There will be some embedded lightning and some gusty winds as it passes through.

The good news is that storms will provide beneficial rains for this time of year.

At 6 p.m., the winds gusted to 52 mph at the St. Pete/Clearwater Airport. At 6:41 p.m., the winds gusted to 50 mph at Bayshore Gardes in Bradenton.

In Pasco County, one tree was reported down on a side street on Lyle Circle in the Sea Pines Subdivision. Some traffic lights are out in the county as a result of some localized power outages, according to a county spokesperson.

The rain will move east overnight with a lull in the activity for the early morning hours. Morning lows will be in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Wednesday will feature partly sunny skies with a 40 percent coverage of scattered storms. Highs will be in the upper 80s.
