TEMECULA, CA – National New England Clam Chowder Day is happening on Saturday, Jan. 21 at Blue Water Grill. Guests at the restaurant can enjoy $ 2 off the price of a cup of the restaurant’s New England Clam Chowder with the purchase of any lunch or dinner entrée. Offer is valid on Saturday, Jan. 21, only and cannot be combined with any other offer. One discounted cup of New England Clam Chowder for each entrée purchased.

The word “chowder” is thought to have come from the French word “chaudière,” which translated literally means “pot” though it refers to a specific cooking pot in French cuisine, according to The Kitchen Project. Chaudière in turn comes from chaud, which is French for “hot” and is derived from the Latin word calderia, which in English language is cauldron.

The popular dish is believed to have first been served in the 16th and 17th centuries in fishing villages along the coasts of France and England and then spread to New England where it gained popularity before spreading across the globe today, including in California which has become famous for serving sustainable seafood dishes.

“National New England Clam Chowder Day on Jan. 21 is a REAL holiday that Bluewater Grill Temecula takes very seriously – just like our chowder itself. Our thick, rich housemade New England Clam Chowder – the white chowder – is full of clams and served with our warm sourdough bread.”

“We’re excited to celebrate National New England Clam Chowder Day to encourage seafood lovers to discover our award-wining chowder and the entire Bluewater Grill Temecula menu. While you’re here, pick up a pint or two to go at the onsite Bluewater Grill Seafood Market.”

Bluewater Grill Temecula is located at 26700 Ynez Court Temecula, CA, 92591.
